EAGLE STIX GOALS

To be the best TEAMMATE and best TEAM player I can possibly be.

To behave with the utmost integrity, class, dignity and sportsmanship.

Learn to ignore a ref’s call or a bad/tough play and know that getting ready for the next whistle is best for the team and is being a ‘team player’.

To display a very POSITIVE attitude and high energy. To only ENCOURAGE my teammates at all times.

To pursue ground balls with FIERCE determination at all times. GB domination wins games! Ground balls are HEART!

To TRIG’ up my stick-work as much as I possibly can. Silky smooth stick-work BOTH WAYS! LAX=stick work and speed.

To significantly improve my overall defensive skills and focus on defense with RELENTLESS determination and strength. Body position and COMMUNICATION!

To significantly increase my offensive field sense, vision and DODGING SKILLS.

To see the field and assist (goals) and pass to my open teammates accordingly. To know that ASSISTS are HONOR!

To greatly improve my judgment and PASSING SKILLS relative to avoiding forced passes (resulting in turn-overs) to covered teammates. Stay calm, see the field and find space!

FALL BALL 2010 Congratulations and Thanks!

Eagles Stix (HS) Players and Parents,

The fall LAX season ended on a very positive/high note with victories over who appears to be our arch rival (Lassiter). Our hats are off to all our players for well played and hard fought games this past weekend including our defense who held our opponent to 5 and 6 goals respectively (two games).

On the behalf of Coach Colt and all our coaches, congratulations to all our Eagles Stix (HS) players on a great fall season. In addition, we would like to thank all the parents, stat takers, sideline support (tents, drinks, encouragement, etc) and everyone who helped make this past season run smoothly in support of our girls.

Sincerely,

Eagles Stix (HS) Lax Club Coaches
Michael Colt/Mike Ruland

LAST WEEK Oct 25th-31st

Eagles Stix Players and Parents,

Please print a copy for all players. Thanks.

·        We had another solid outing yesterday at Roswell HS playing two total games against Roswell and Walton. We were pleased with our energy, teamwork and support for each other. As always, we continue to encourage all our girls to practice/work on stick work.

Here are the highlights (critical stats):
1.     GROUND BALLS (heart and tenacity): Eagles Stix 72 and our two opponents 47.
2.     ASSISTS (teamwork and honor): Eagles Stix 12 and our two opponents 2.
3.     PASS/CATCH RATIO (requires repetition/practice to achieve skill): Eagles Stix  65% (113/72) and our two opponents 54% (82/45).
4.     GOALS (achieved by above): Eagles Stix  28 and our two opponents 12.

Our final two practices are this week on Tuesday and Thursday as per normal. We hope to see everyone out so we can prepare for our up coming and final opponent on Sunday (Lassiter).

Our final two games are this coming Sunday (10/31) at FCS (Fellowship Christian School) at 1:00 and 2:00 PM. the format is RED at 1:00 and BLUE at 2:00. Please do email/RSVP me so I can work up rosters for our opponent (Lassiter).

This just in……..

·        RED will also play Eagles Stix (8th grade) at 3:00 PM on Sunday October 31st.  So in addition to RED’s 1:00 PM game they will play a 3:00 PM game against Eagles Stix 8th grade (this has actually been a tradition over the years). For all that have emailed me about RED at 1:00 PM, only let me know if you CANNOT make the 3:00 PM game.

·        Worthy note: “The Eagles Stix Nation” will have a tremendous showing this coming Sunday to watch our two games on Sunday versus Lassiter. Eagles Stix (8th  Grade) will be there to watch, encourage, support us in our games against Lassiter.  This is truly very exciting. Parents please let all players know if they are not reading  these emails…..and thanks!
