1. Please be mindful of the request below from STARS regarding drop-off and pick-up of our players:
"This is an IMPORTANT ISSUE -The Pick-Up and Drop off area for the athletes needs to occur on the back side of the property (near the pavilion). Your players should be dropped off in the back and walk (north) around the back-side of the building to the front field. If parents want to watch practice, they should park in the back and walk around to the front to watch as attempting to watch from a vehicle in the front will plug up the flow of traffic." STARS will make a big issue out of those who do not follow these instructions. Once more teams are holding practices at STARS, the traffic becomes crazy if everyone stops the flow of traffic right at the entrance of the parking lot or even worse on the driveway before you get to the parking lot.
2. Practice cancellations:
We will have practice whenever Stars has the field OPEN during our time slot and the girls are not in danger of lightning or heavy rains. Stars will make a judgment on the field quality at 1 pm every day and post by 1:30pm the day of each practice if our fields are OPEN or CLOSED.
Stars has (3) ways to check status (we will be using Field 1 (A&B):
a) Parents can call the Weather Hotline 678 - 366 - 9008
b) Parents can visit the website and look up the status
http://www.starssoccerclub.com/Home/tabid/4301/Default.aspx
c) Parents can also have Text Messaging Alerts sent automatically if they register at http://statusme.com/ It takes only a few seconds to register for the email and text messaging notification.
Hello Feeder White Team!!
Awesome showing by the girls this weekend - they played hard both
games and all of the girls are showing great improvement every game!
Practice this week will be focused on team fundamentals, primarily
breaking the ball out of our defensive zone and moving the ball down
the field, running 7 vs. 7 so we can continue to work on our offense,
and scrimmages with the Red team. Please don't forget that for the
coming weekend we have games both Saturday (3:15 PM at the Milton Turf
Field vs. Lassiter) and Sunday (2:15 PM vs. Northview at Newtown
park).
Since practice time is now going to be mostly focused on team offense
and defensive drills, the Coaches would like to ask the parents to
work with the daughters outside of practice on their individual stick
skills, primarily in throwing but also catching the ball and moving
the stick between their dominant and weak hand. Last, have the girls
work with carrying their stick in their left hand and cradle a tennis
ball or a sock bundle as much as you can stand! For Tuesday please
have the girls in cleats, their Milton feeder practice gear and have
them wear their red/white practice penny's.
Again, great effort by the girls this weekend.,
Coach Mark, Coach David, Coach Dave

Hello Feeder White Team!!
Awesome showing by the girls Saturday - goal for this year is to see
the girls improving every week and they have done a great job doing

Lots of progress shown by the girls, and practice this week will be

scrimmages with the Red team. Please don't forget that for the
coming weekend we have games both Saturday (8 AM at the Milton Turf
Field vs. Alpharetta) and Sunday (3 PM at Chattahoochee)

Hello Feeder White Team!!
Awesome showing by the girls Saturday - great way to start the year.
We saw a lot of good things - namely that the girls will be very
competitive in this league, and with a bit more experience from both
in practice and games we are going to give the tough teams in our
league a great game. Goal for this year is to see the girls improving
every week and they have done a great job doing just that!
On offense the girls really spread out nicely and moved the ball
around the 8 meter arc - they cut well and passed and moved the ball
well. They also did a good job moving the ball in transition from
defense to offense and moved the ball vs. running it there. The
scoring was nicely balanced and between our middies and our attack
girls.
On the defensive side, the girls did a great job staying disciplined
to their positions and sticking with their girls, and the did a nice
job sliding to fill gaps and guard the most dangerous girl. We really
preach full field defensive pressure and our attack girls did a good
job coming all the way back to the restraining line to pressure the
ball and get a few turnovers - we really never had a girl go straight
to goal the entire day - a very good job by the defense.
Of course there are always a few things to work on and for practice
this coming week we will continue breaking the girls down to their
primary position (either offense or defense) and really work on
fundamentals - the goal here is to help the girls feel as comfortable
as possible in their position - with that confidence their ability to
make an impact will continue to improve. For the coming weeks
practice focus will be again on offensive and defensive fundamentals,
continuing to work on team offense and defense and where time scrimmage
with the Feeder Red team.

Hello All,
Good practice Tuesday - lots of work on defense and a good scrimmage
with the Red team - the girls did a good job while realizing how much
faster the game is going to be! We are keeping the focus on
fundamentals and teaching the girls positions we think they can be
successful in, and on Saturday we will have the girls work at those
positions.
For Thursday please stay tuned for weather updates - if we have
practice please have the girls dress in their Milton LAX gear
(sweatpants, sweatshirt and in layers underneath both). If you have
old softball or baseball batting gloves or leather driving gloves to
keep their hands warm, have the girls wear those as well.
Friday night we are going to have a team pasta dinner at the Nye's
house and pass out our uniforms for the season! The girls will have
two jerseys ( I believe a red and white jersey and skirt) - not sure
on numbers right now but if you have a preference let us know and we
will do our best to accommodate.
For Saturday Kell's Jamboree we have three games, the first starting
at 10:20 AM vs. the Hootch; we take a 30 minute break and then we play
back to back games starting at 11:40 vs. Roswell, take a 5 minutes
break then play Walton at 12:20 PM. So for Saturday, bring both
jerseys and dress warm. So there will not be much time to eat so
bring for your daughter energy bars, fruit, etc. for between game
snacks and energy.
Last, we expect your daughters will be at all events Thursday, Friday
and Saturday - if you are NOT please let the coaches know as soon as
possible.
Thanks All,
Coach Mark, Coach David and Coach Dave
